Some years ago we saw a picture of Ijen Volcano in National Geographic. We decided we needed to see it when we were in Indonesia, so we hired a car to drive us from Bali to Java and back.

The yellow material is sulphur.

The blue color you see is because of the liquid sulphur.

This is what the miners extract and carry up the crater. One of these baskets weights at least 70 kilos.
